After really nice and relaxing weekend in a small village called Tiszarof having a company weekend it was time to do something else this weekend.
Three Miskolc LC trainees arrived to Budapest and I promised to guide them around a little bit. It was rather interesting for me because I haven't seen all those places we saw today. Unfortunately weather was rainy and it forced us to buy umbrellas. But traveling with trams 4/6 and 2 gave good sights with some comfort. We climbed up to the Gellert hill from the steeper southern side but the view opening over the city was worth of the exercise.
So what is the part 2? It will be the weekend when my parents come to visit me in the end of the September. So this role as a guide served as a good exercise for that.

Being a tourist guide part 1

Last Friday I travelled to Miskolc to see Dóra and to spent the weekend there. On the Friday we attended Miskolc university party for new students. Nothing really different there, place was filled with mechanical engineering student and IT-students were most likely having a crash course to UNIX-command line tools. On Saturday we went to Bükk which is national park area near Miskolc. Mushroom picking, laying in the sunshine and nice lunch. Sunday was even more relaxing, just eating delicious food, swimming in the lake and laying on the beach. Great relaxing weekend.
But on Sunday evening the was some problems with train. First we stayed at a station waiting another train and this took 10 minutes. After that we continued but then the train halted an a small station. It took something like 15 minutes and people were wondering what is going on. No announcements or other info. Then the lights went out from the car and around the same time people started to jump out from the train. Luckily the were couple english speaking persons going to Budapest on board so I heard there was an accident or something like that and the train would stay there at least an hour.
So we headed for the bus. Nothing was done by the railway company and we took a bus towards Budapest and switched to another which took us to Örs Vezér tere. That is a end stop of the red metro line and pretty close to my place. Unfortunately, it was too late at that point so the metro was closed. So, I started to look for a night bus. After some waiting a suitable bus arrived and I headed to Blaha Lujza tér. From there there was no tram connection due late time so I just walked home. Normally I would have arrived around 22:30 home but now it was midnight.
