It was about the time to return back to Miskolc. Weather was really hot during the weekend - at least for me. It reached every day at least 30 degrees and usually it was over that. Needles to say, that kind of heat people stay in shadows or indoors.

Saturday night's special event was Experidance. It is a Hungarian modern dance group which performs various acts or dances with story line. The one we saw was presenting Hungarian history from founding the country to rising after communist era. I liked that performance even though I haven't attended similar ones too often.

The past week in Budapest was really successful. The main goal was to find a flat. We managed to find a really great flat and also to sign the rental contract. In addition to that I have Hungarian mobile number and bank account now. There are still some things to do regarding the accommodation. I have to visit my district council in Budapest to inform them about my new address. What kind of process that is ... I have no clue. At the work they said it should be simple.

Yesterday we took a IC-train from Miskolc to Budapest. The goal of our journey is to find the perfect flat from Budapest for me. Unfortunately, we ran into troubles right away. The first flat we managed to see (previous show was canceled just in the morning) is located in a area which is under repairs. Some of the buildings look like they have forgotten there. But those are going to be reconstructed in near future. The flat we saw is in a new building and the problem with it is that it is way too good. After seeing that one there is no interest to continue visits.

So, we are going to meet with the owner of the flat on Thursday and sign the contract.

Today weather was really nice. So we decided to spend some time outdoors. Just before noon we went to buy potatoes and vegetables from outdoor market. The only price I remember was new potatoes - 250 forint (1 euro)/ kilo.

After shopping we went to mountain by bus. Somewhere on the mountain there is a place called Lillafüred. It is a castle looking hotel with artificial lake next to it. There is also a stream and beautiful waterfall next to it. I had a lunch there with Dóra. It consisted trout, chicken, pork and beef plus potatoes, rice and vegetables. It was meant for two persons and it costed something like 3500 forints altogether. After settling down we started to walk down along the paths and road. Pretty nice around there.

In the evening we might play billiard with Dóra's brother and cousin.

Yesterday Dóra and her father picked me up from the airport. My flight was couple minutes late and getting luggage took almost half an hour. The traffic in Budapest was heavy and it took over two hours to get to Miskolc. Rest of the day included eating and walking around downtown. I fell asleep early, around 9 pm. Today I woke up after a long and good sleep. Sweet.

So far I have been organizing my stuff and setting up phpMyAdmin on this laptop. It took more time than I expected because of the difference between new and old style passwords in MySQL. But now it works nicely. When Dóra comes back from work we might head for downtown to meet some people.

Wake up around 3 am, leaving from Lahti 4 am and now I have one and half hours to wait at the airport. I was lucky with overweight, they charged only for 5 kilos. I was expecting 10 kilos =). So altogether I am bringing with me 36 kg of junk/stuff/property.

Weather in Budapest is going to be cold today, around 14 degrees. But the weekend will be hotter, reaching 26 on Sunday and Monday will be sweaty with 28. So much... might take some time to get used to. And I left my old sandals - looks like I am going to buy new pair.

There are no plans for the weekend yet. Most likely we will do sightseeing in Miskolc. It is the third biggest city in Hungary approximately 1,5-2 hours from Budapest. That is the place where Dóra lives and where I am going to spend some time. Next week we will head for Budapest to see those rental flats. Hopefully we are lucky and we manage to find decent without troubles. There is at least one really nice looking but I wonder how it looks in real life.

Maybe I get some snack before my flight now...

This and previous days have passed in packing and related things. I cleaned up my old flat in Lappeenranta and returned the key. Looks like I will be able to pack more than enough and that means also overweight fee. But more stuff the better, right?

It is kind a funny feeling. Almost like any ordinary day but still I know tomorrow I will be in Hungary. The weather forecast says it is going to be cold day but that doesn't matter. It is going to be so exciting day in any case that I probably will not notice whether it is raining or not...

I brought a lot of stuff from my place to my parents' place. Despite I threw several bags of old clothes and junk to recycling, they was still awful amount of stuff. Now it is somehow sorted out and I even made a test packing. Looks like I am able to take necessary items and even some extras. But this is not too fun... quite exhausting actually.

In addition of sorting out my property I have also gone through several websites offering rental flats. With 230-280 euros there are many options, from small 35 sq meters to rather large 60 sq meters. It is tempting to think about those bigger and more expensive ones but in reality my salary will not be that high I could afford them easily. I am going to need some money also for traveling etc.

I don't know how many ads I've been through, but my eyes are getting tired... cos I forgot to buy newspaper in Budapest :(
But I got the tickets for the dance show! :D (www.experidance.hu) and marking things on the calendar, such as StMartin concert (www.stmartin.hu), Dalí exhibition, Munkácsy exhibition, trip here and there... I don't want to make it too busy though... :) only six weeks... with one in budapest for checking the rents. I hope we manage to find a decent one.

About here... the weather is pretty nice, however my flight from Berlin was terrible. It was so windy above Hungary, very bumpy, the worst ever flight I had...

Mira is cute :)))) gonna take her to an outing tomorrow.

I should start unpacking. So I leave you know...

... sort of. I managed to graduate on April 29th and I had parties with both friends and relatives. After that I just did some packing with Dóra and today I dropped her to harbour. She took a ferry to Tallin and from there she continued to Berlin and then to Budapest. Luckily I have bought a straight flight. Hopefully I manage to deal with inevitable over weigh with luggage.

I still have some some legal stuff to solve. Most likely I am worrying too much about details but I want to do this properly. Finnish system is not too difficult to understand, especially when you have lived 26 years in it...

Sunday is mother's day here if I have understood correctly. Anyways, I already gave a present for her. On the way back from harbor I visited computer store and I bought USB-head set. Her computer (Powermac "QuickSilver" G4 dual 1GHz) doesn't have mic/line-in for some strange reason so USB-headset was only reasonable option. But it works perfectly straight from box with Skype and that is the most important thing.
